University of Cape Town – 31st March 2020 to 8th April 2020 – Application deadline is 25th January 2020
No registration fees for the workshop and accommodation will be provided – Website can be accessed at https://biophysicsworkshop.co.za/
The workshop will cover all aspects of protein structure solution by X-ray crystallography, including the fundamental concepts of protein crystallography, crystallographic data collection, processing of diffraction data, phasing, structure refinement, validation and deposition in the PDB, as well as an introduction to CryoEM and Electron Diffraction.
The event is largely funded by START and CCP4, with additional funding from the South African NRF (National Research Foundation) and the International Union for Crystallography (IUCr), the International Union for Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP) as well as UCT itself.
The GCRF – START Launch event
START held its launch event at St. Catherine’s College, Oxford on the 27th-28th March 2019.
The event included invited guests from the START participating organisations and other interested researchers coming together to share their research achieved now the project has run for about a year. Sessions included presentations on the opportunities provided by synchrotron technology in support of the research disciplines START supports and enabled very stimulating discussions on current and future directions.
Programme – the Draft programme for the GCRF – START launch event is available here:
